Chic, Mauve, and Dusty Pink

The chic yet soft and calming look of a mauve and dusty pinks palette is a gorgeous way to add subtle color that isn't completely neutral and also brings a pop of brightness to your magical day. Shades of mauve and pink colors with gray undertones complement white and leafy greens. This lovely look can be paired with any decor that fits your personality. From filling mason jars to complementing desert cactus, mauve can tie together anything that speaks to you. But, no matter what, our hearts will forever skip a beat over the oh so magical Mrs. Box.

Modern Tropics with Pops of Neon

Sunny skies, salty air, and pops of neon pink are on our minds this week. A modern tropical wedding is the perfect fit for a couple looking to keep simple in paradise while adding modern flare. The whites of a classic wedding, combined with tropical green, should be the base of your palette, giving guests a clean and modern feel. Add pink with bright flowers for a more natural pop, while keeping it modern and chic with Pin-perfect modern neon decor.

Soft Blush + Mauve

With spring right around the corner, we are loving soft, spring-like colors. A blush and mauve palette is not only subtle and elegant, but it is also a perfect way to add color to the scene without overpowering the beauty of wedding white. Mauve is a shade that gives a deeper color while keeping the subtle and soft vibe of blush. Using flowers, such as peonies, that often come in the perfect shade of blush pink is a great way to continue the color throughout – not to mention, peonies are just simply magical.

Grapefruit-Cardamom Gin Fizz by The Modern Proper

This week, we are loving the presentation and warm flavors of cardamom-infused gin, the tart pucker of grapefruit, and the earthiness of rosemary mixed with the bubble of prosecco, all meeting in one delicious cocktail glass. This grapefruit-cardamom gin fizz drink may just be the signature cocktail you are looking to serve on the big day.

Grapefruit-Cardamom Gin Fizz

Serves 2

Infused Gin and Rosemary Syrup

1 c. gin

6 cardamom pods

1 c. sugar

1 c. water

2 rosemary sprigs

Cocktail

2 oz. rosemary syrup

3 oz. infused gin

1/2 c. grapefruit juice

splash of prosecco

rosemary sprigs for garnish

grapefruit peel for garnish

Instructions

1.) In a small jar with an airtight lid, add gin and cardamom pods. Seal and store for 24 hours.

2.) In a small saucepan, bring sugar, water and two rosemary sprigs to a simmer until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, and allow to cool completely. Remove the rosemary and use right away, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

3.) To make the cocktail, add rosemary syrup, infused gin, and grapefruit juice over ice in a cocktail mixer and stir. Using a strainer, divide the mixture in two and pour directly into glasses filled with fresh ice. Top with prosecco, and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a grapefruit peel. Cheers!
