Surprise Thompson Island Wedding

Pat and Anna were together for 12 years and never planned to get married, but after Pat got sick and landed in the hospital, they realized they didn’t have the same rights as married folks did. So instead of planning a traditional wedding, they got a little creative. They sent out invitations for a family reunion and guests were shuttled to Thompson Island aboard Boston Harbor Cruises.

As the boat docked at Thompson Island, Pat whispered something in his nephew’s ear, and his nephew shouted, “They’re getting married!” Only their wedding party had known. After a bunch of hooting and hollering, the shocked and excited guests witnessed a beautiful ocean-side ceremony. Then the celebration began with a lobster bake under an outdoor pavilion jazzed up with ridiculously cool details, like lace tablecloths, sassy colorful centerpieces, home-brewed hard cider, lots of lawn games, and a totally wild photo booth.

Jenny Packham's Portia

This total dream of a wedding dress comes from Jenny Packham's 2016 Bridal Collection; a magical, Midsummer's Night Dream-inspired, crystal beaded, ostrich feather-embellished, fairy-tale of a collection. We can hardly pick a favorite but The Portia is high on the list. The all-over beading, bias cut, and fluttering sleeves are a match made in wedding gown heaven.

Romantic Suspended Florals

Elevate your floral design with romantic cascading greenery in doorways or tent entrances. Let tendrils of jasmine vine spill down an archway interspersed with green ivy, deep purple orchids, succulents, moss, and hellebores. This floral install from The Lane is the stuff of dreams.

Vintage Mint & Ivory

Dusty, vintage mint and soft ivory are pairing up, and we’re swooning over the details of these wedding colors. We recommend tucking large green succulents into wedding bouquets among eucalyptus, and serving a little mint chocolate chip ice cream as a late-night snack. And don’t forget those soft, minty Badley Mischka heels, which are most certainly a must-have.

Playful Buzzard's Bay Wedding

Chris and Emmy rented the charming Overbrook House for their summer wedding in Buzzard’s Bay. They said “I do” in front of a soft blue ribbon back drop between two trees on the sprawling lawn. Emmy’s elegant taffeta Alvina Valenta wedding gown featured satin buttons all the way down the length of the train, and she had the wedding accessories to match with turquoise shoes and a pop of pink on her nails. Guests tossed colorful confetti as the newlyweds made their way down the aisle and a bright, playful tent reception followed beneath a ceiling of colorful ribbon garland in Buzzard’s Bay.

BHLDN Grace Gown

The BHLDN Grace Gown is both sophisticated, romantic, and totally dreamy. The structured bodice, empbroidered tulle skirt, and low back featuring dainty buttoms are enough to make us weak in the knees. It feels reminiscent of Olivia Polermo's stunning Carolina Herrera gown or something Kate Middleton might renew her vows in. Either way, we wanted to wear it the moment we saw it.

Unique Geometric Wedding Cake Topper

We are head over heels for this geometric-shaped cake topper by The Roc Shop and intricate gold cake by Hey There, Cupcake. The combo is awesome! Think outside the cake here, because this fun acrylic, laser-cut topper can be made in different sizes for cupcakes, cocktail stirrers, appetizer picks, and more!

Lavender & Soft Citrus

Like a late-summer evening coming to a close, these colors exude warmth and romance. And even though marsala is the color of the year, we’ve recently found ourselves falling hard for cool lavender hues. We dig the vibe created by pairing the soft purple tones with light lemon and tangerine. From cocktails to desserts and everything in between, infuse this color scheme into your details for guaranteed pretty.
