A Small, Intimate Summer Wedding on Martha’s Vineyard

Brittany admits that she had always planned to elope to avoid the stress of planning, but instead, in just three months, she and fiancé Tony put together a teeny tiny wedding on a teeny tiny island.

The knot was actually tied in the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, witnessed by both sets of parents and Brittany’s brother. The seven of them then celebrated downtown at Atria Restaurant, where a beautiful table was set with beautiful flowers and ocean-inspired décor in their outdoor dining area. A wedding film by Meg Simone tells the whole story of this summer Martha’s Vineyard wedding beautifully.

Surprise Thompson Island Wedding

Pat and Anna were together for 12 years and never planned to get married, but after Pat got sick and landed in the hospital, they realized they didn’t have the same rights as married folks did. So instead of planning a traditional wedding, they got a little creative. They sent out invitations for a family reunion and guests were shuttled to Thompson Island aboard Boston Harbor Cruises.

As the boat docked at Thompson Island, Pat whispered something in his nephew’s ear, and his nephew shouted, “They’re getting married!” Only their wedding party had known. After a bunch of hooting and hollering, the shocked and excited guests witnessed a beautiful ocean-side ceremony. Then the celebration began with a lobster bake under an outdoor pavilion jazzed up with ridiculously cool details, like lace tablecloths, sassy colorful centerpieces, home-brewed hard cider, lots of lawn games, and a totally wild photo booth.

Playful Buzzard's Bay Wedding

Chris and Emmy rented the charming Overbrook House for their summer wedding in Buzzard’s Bay. They said “I do” in front of a soft blue ribbon back drop between two trees on the sprawling lawn. Emmy’s elegant taffeta Alvina Valenta wedding gown featured satin buttons all the way down the length of the train, and she had the wedding accessories to match with turquoise shoes and a pop of pink on her nails. Guests tossed colorful confetti as the newlyweds made their way down the aisle and a bright, playful tent reception followed beneath a ceiling of colorful ribbon garland in Buzzard’s Bay.

Rustic White Mountains Wedding

After 10 years together, Amanda and Dan – who were very adorable high school sweethearts – made it official on August 4th with an intimate outdoor ceremony under a birch arbor at Whitney’s Inn in Jackson, New Hampshire – a rustic, beautifully lit barn reception complete with vintage lace table runners, giant pink dahlias, and a cute yellow lab to boot. Lindsay Ocker Photography captured the beautiful details of this romantic White Mountains wedding.

Dreamy Thompson Island Wedding

Kate and Kathy tied the knot on Thompson Island, under the gaze of Boston’s skyline. An altar of old-growth trees danced with beige and cream ribbons that cascaded from their branches. Kathy walked down the aisle (linking arms with Kate) in a romantic, lace Jim Hjelm gown, while Kate said “I do” in a playful, full-skirted Cristos dress with adorable cap sleeves. Both women completely crushed it in the style department, and the entire wedding oozed romance.

Vintage French-Inspired Winery Wedding

Mismatched cream-colored vintage chairs, potted herb table markers, White Russian signature cocktails, and French macaroons, all set atop a sprawling vineyard in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania? Wedding dreams do come true. Inspired by her love of all things French, the bride worked with Belovely Floral & Event Design to be sure every rustic, vintage, and floral detail suited her vision, which was a perfect fit for Grace Winery at Sweetwater Farm’s pastoral stone and wood backdrops.

Colorful Barn Wedding

After finding inspiration in a local fabric store, the bride, Jess, decided on a varied and playful color scheme, including a variety of shades, like sea foam, mustard yellow, and a blush pink. From the bridesmaids’ dresses to the escort cards and the playful pennant flags waving in the breeze, these signature colors were folded in to every detail. And with swoon-worthy flowers by Petal Floral Design, this dreamy mid-summer wedding is sure to inspire.

South African Destination Wedding

Friends and family came from around the globe to celebrate at this stunning wine country estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The Aleit Group provided the look: crystal chandeliers and gossamer lighting suspended over sweeping Tuscan tables dressed in soft cream linens and lined with blush-colored taper candles and amber glassware. Bridesmaids in all white added an angelic touch. And that wedding dress! The structured, detailed bodice and full skirt provided the final exclamation point.
